Where Are They Now? - Ben

We rescued Ben on a day that nobody in the Stray Rescue family will ever forget. We responded to a call at a house where five dogs had been tortured and killed. It was, without a doubt, one of the worst scenes we had ever encountered, and this case propelled St. Louis City's first Animal Cruelty Task Force forward. While we were investigating this house of horrors, we received another call about two extremely sick puppies not far from where we were. We arrived to find Ben and his brother, Jerry. Both puppies were severely malnourished, infected, and bald. It was a huge understatement to say that they had a horribly rough start to life. Thankfully we got to them in time and, although it took weeks for them to heal, they both survived and have been adopted in to loving homes.

Here's what Ben's family has to say about adopting him...

When I saw Ben on Today in St. Louis, I went online and immediately completed the adoption application. Since then, Ben and I have become best friends. We do disagree and even argue at times (he is very bullheaded), but ultimately we come to a peaceful resolution.

I cannot imagine my life without Ben now. He is loved by the whole neighborhood, and my family adores him. I see the gratitude for having been rescued in his eyes everyday. I hope he sees the same in my eyes for choosing to be in my world today.

Thanks to The Stracks Fund, our emergency medical fund, Ben was able to get the top-notch care he needed and go on to live an amazing life filled with fun, comfort, and love. The dogs we rescue are absolutely amazing, going on to sweeten the lives of so many families.
