Where Are They Now? - Shapoopie

Shapoopie is a rescue with an odd story. She was found in one of the tanks at a sewage facility. We will never know if she had fallen in or was tossed, but this girl needed help. Her skin and eyes were irritated, and she was exhausted from treading while in the tank. She was rushed to the Stray Rescue vet clinic where she was bathed in Dawn soap and had her eyes flushed to help relive the irritation. She never once gave our vet staff any trouble while working on her. She was as sweet as could be. She knew we wanted to help. Shapoopie recovered and was adopted by a loving family.

Here's what Shapoopie's adoptive family had to say...

It was freezing in December two years ago and we saw Randy Grim on the news asking  for fosters.  We already a dog, Rudy, but thought it wouldn’t hurt to look.  There was something about Shapoopie that caught my eye. She was so beautiful.  We have always had big dogs and she looked so tiny.  We loaded up our three teenagers and went to Stray Rescue. Shapoopie was currently in a foster home but we wanted to see what was available. I couldn’t get that sweet dog off of my mind so we filled out an application and thought we would do a trial adoption period and see how she was with our dog. I was worried about her being a stray. We had only gotten dogs from breeders in the past. I could not believe how much love this little dog had to give.  I didn’t know if we should crate her on the first night. I went into my daughters’ bedroom to find her curled up between our two girls. We were done! Instant love.  She truly is the best dog we have ever had.  She is smart, funny, and best friends with Rudy. We call her Shoopie and we will never adopt from a breeder again.
