Where Are They Now? - Martini

Randy responded to a call about an injured dog. He arrived to find her lying in a dirty pool of water. When he picked  up Martini , he saw the open wound on her leg. She also had an injury to her muzzle. Randy knew he needed to get her back to Stray Rescue quickly. Martini had been shot in the leg, and her jaw was broken. She would have a long road of healing ahead of her. She had to keep a muzzle on for weeks to heal her jaw. And her front leg had to be amputated. Through all that Martini had endured, this little girl's spirit was never broken. Martini was adopted and now lives in Chicago.

Here is what Martini's adopter has to say....

She loves my pitbull (a female named Kami who I rescued from a kill shelter in Irving, Texas). Martini is always biting on the side of Kami's face and Kami just lets her.

When Kami wants something, she just goes over and takes it from Martini but then Martini will whine and wiggle her way over and slowly and innocently grab the toy/stuffed animal back again. Kami is not dumb, she sees what Martini is up to, and lets her have her way.

Martini loves to sleep on her back, all sprawled out with legs going every direction and SHE SNORES!!! It is hilarious to listen to her noisy little snout.

Out of my 3 dogs, she refuses to go potty on a walk, she waits until we get back in the yard before doing her business.

Just 2 days ago my 9 year old daughter decided to take Martini on a walk, just the 2 of them, and Martini cried and tried to get back home. I think she really likes the comfort of her "pack." My 3rd dog is a rescue as well but he is 12-13 years old and tries to ignore Kami and Martini. For the most part, he's pretty aloof.

Martini has not let the missing leg hold her back. She jumps on beds, on the top/back of my couch to pounce on Kami when they're playing and even on top of the crates/kennels to sniff out the stuffed animals my kids sometimes keep up there.

I could not imagine my home without Martini.

Thanks to The Stracks Fund, our emergency medical fund, Martini was able to get the top-notch care she needed and go on to live an amazing life filled with fun, comfort, and love.
