Where Are They Now? - Patch Adams

Patch Adams was not a regular on our feeding route, but as soon as we saw him we knew he needed to be rescued. We were not sure what the circumstances were behind all the wounds on his head. Was he being fought? Possible being used as a bait dog? Or sometimes we see wounds like this from other male dogs when there is a female in heat. However he got the wounds, they needed to be treated and he was a willing patient to go. Patch was a real sweetie so it was no surprise when his wounds healed up that he quickly found his forever home.

Here is what Patch Adams adoptive family had to say....

We came to stray rescue one day deciding to check it out after having a not so good experience adopting elsewhere in the past. In March of 2013 we lost our rottie Cain after he graced us with his presence for 13 years. We decided to wait to do anything because the next member of our family had to be "the one". After taking care of some formalities we got a walk through of the puppies at Stray Rescue. I saw Roman (Patch), and knew instantly he was coming home with us!

A few months later and we have learned quite a bit about each other! Roman loves to play, dig holes, eat, curl up in front of the fireplace and CUDDLE! He's a huge cuddle bug, whether you are a willing participant are not LOL! We've learned how to sit, shake, and lay down on command. We are still working on our walking skills but when he gets excited its kind of funny and we all lose concentration! We've had to work through going through the trash can in the garage as well as that we don't play with our beds like we do our toys LOL!

Roman recently met all of his puppy cousins, there are no pictures because it was quite the busy event. But after a few hello's everyone got along great! His cousin Samurai in one our pictures stayed with us for the holidays. Roman loves pawing at him to get him to play or they just cuddle. Roman is the sweetest thing ever, and even though sometimes his ill placed passing gas will clear a room, he's definitely one of the best things that have happened to us this year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE WALKER FAMILY!
SHARLA, ANDRE, KAYLA, AND ROMAN
