Carlos is a bit of a celebrity. He came to Stray Rescue from Oman (see story on our front page). He was rescued by a nice woman over there who desperately tried to find a home for Carlos. When she couldn't, she started contacting shelters in the U.S. Once we heard his story we knew we had to help this poor guy. Someone had treated him not so nice and he was terrified of people. They also gave him one of the worst home ear crop jobs we've ever seen. Once he arrived at our shelter it was apparent just how scared he was. He would hide in the corner anytime someone approached him. He would flinch if we reached out to pet him. Then one day he saw Ovaltine and his whole face lit up and his tail slightly wagged. Ovaltine had been rescued just a few days before and was on her way to a foster home. But once we saw Carlos' reaction to her we knew she was just what he needed. Since sharing the office together Carlos has really come out of his shell. He is now all happy and tail wags whenever the volunteers come to get him for his walks. He loves chasing balls in the shelter yard and will do just about anything for peanut butter. His transformation is amazing to watch. Carlos loves to go for walks (just watch out for squirrels) and now welcomes petting. He would do best in a home with another well socialized dog to keep him on the path started by Ovaltine. He can still be a bit skittish so a home with lots of love and patience is a must. If you would like to meet this handsome guy please fill out one of the online applications and we can make arrangements for you to stop by and meet him. Carlos says to tell you "bring peanut butter".
