Hi, my name is Torchie and I am one of the Crawford County hoarder dogs who was rescued and brought to Stray Rescue. As soon as I came to the shelter I had a foster home ready for me so I could start learning what it means to be part of a family. I have struggled a lot with this concept because all my life, the human never cared for us or had contact with us. All I've known is my pack, and I was taken away from them when I went into my foster home. So its been a hard road for me and a slow one.
Here at my foster home, I've met a new pack. I have 3 brothers and a sister teaching me the ropes. I've learned what toys are and I absolutely love em!! Sometimes I chew on the wrong things though, so I'm still learning good chewing habits. I've learned how to walk on a leash in the yard and I'm pretty good at it too! I'm told I'll be taking walks very soon though, once it's warmer. I'm very good at going potty outside. I almost never mess up inside the house. I don't know any commands yet because I'm still too scared to walk up to people. I still jump at sounds or quick movements too, and I tend to run away to my kennel when I get scared or unsure. I still have a very long way to go before I trust people, so I'm going to need someone very caring and extremely patient to help me through it. I am as sweet as can be and my foster parents say I will be an even more wonderful pup once I learn to open up. I am spayed, I have a microchip, and I am up to date on all my shots. If you are interested in learning more about me, please fill out an application and my foster mom will be in touch with you.
**Please note that Torchie is in a foster home and not at the shelter.
**Please check the adoption status before applying to make sure there isn't already an adoption pending.
