Miracle On Pine Street

This past week has been very exciting. Watching a shelter/center being built, volunteers jumping in and getting their hands dirty to the wonderful donation towards Phase 2 from Carol House Furniture ended our week on such a high note!

Phase 1 (Life Phase) includes a medical center,  70 new runs, an education center and true hope for the dogs that are currently house at the Gasconade City Pound. Most of you know how horrible the conditions are at Gasconade and the disease that makes this outdated facilty an appalling place for any dog or cat to be housed in. July 19th, Stray Rescue will start taking 20 dogs a week until they are all safe with us. In upcoming weeks Animal House will be opening their building for the kitties and soon one day, we hope, we will have an progressive, low to no kill solution stradegy in place. This is in thanks for the widespread community support- Thanks!

Phase 2 (Homing Phase) , we are still shy over 1 million dollars to finish. This includes the adoption floor, lobby, library and a big wonderful fun yard. We have high hopes the support will continue so we can all see the day that the needless killing of St. Louis companion animals end.
