Trial Adoption Period (TAP)

Want to make sure that your adopted pet adjusts well to your home? After deciding on a dog to adopt, you will get a five day Trial Adoption Period (TAP). This allows you to see the dog in your home environment.

At the beginning of your TAP, you will fill out the adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee, which is $75. If within five days you decide it’s not going to work out, you get a full refund. However anytime after, you do not get a refund of your adoption fee.

We do whatever it takes to keep the dog in the home, so if the TAP is affected by training issues, please reach out to the training department at training@strayrescue.org.
