Super Simon, Another in the Long Line of Tough Cases

Responding to a Citizens' Service Bureau report concerning a stray dog in a person's back yard, we arrived to find two dogs huddled together on a thin, filthy sheet in the furthest corner of the yard near a dumpster. One of the dogs stood up... the other did not. He seemed lifeless. The person who called CSB said that the emaciated dog was fine, and he was just sad because she would not let him in the house.

The son of the woman who lived there came outside and said the two dogs were brothers; however, the residents denied owning the sickest of the two dogs. At that point, Randy was far more concerned with getting the dog to safety as soon as possible.

The poor dog, named Super Simon, was rushed to Stray Rescue's trauma center for stabilization. Once stable, Simon was brought to VSS where he continues to fight for his life. Simon needs your prayers and good energy as he is far from being out of the woods in his fight for a second chance and a warm, loving home.

It pains us to say it, but these cases are becoming more frequent. In fact, we are now responding to these horrid, frustrating abuse and neglect cases sometimes multiple times a day. We will always continue to do everything within our means and more to save these poor souls, but these severe medical cases wreak havoc on our emergency medical fund.

We are continuing to systematically ramp up community outreach and education efforts, as well as our work with the city to prosecute for animal abuse and neglect, in order to truly find a lasting resolution to such cruelty. As a society that should value or at least respect all forms of life, we can no longer tolerate this persistent senselessness.

In the meantime, you can make an immediate difference by giving to The Stracks Fund by clicking the donate button below. Every penny goes to saving innocent lives like Simon's. It is a constant need, and saying we are forever grateful for your help is a colossal understatement. Without your support, we truly couldn't save these lives.
