Stray Rescue loves the St. Louis Blues, plain and simple. They seem to have a never-ending reservoir of care and compassion for our four legged friends, as a few of the players proved yet again today!
Blues forward Alex Steen and defenseman Kris Russell hit the streets with founder Randy Grim today to see if they could help save a stray. Instead, they ended up saving 12!
"I never knew the scope of the problem," said Russell. "I'm thankful Stray Rescue is here."
Among those rescued were two young adults named Lippy and Paisley, a momma, Icona Pop (named after a Swedish band) and her eight butterball puppies, and a cat named Garfield who was hit by a car but is stable and recovering nicely.
"I am always amazed when I go rescuing with Randy," said Steen.
Stray Rescue would like to thank Alex, Kris, and the rest of the St. Louis Blues, namely Barrett Jackman and David Backes, who are always willing to lend a strong back and a kind heart!
Don't forget, the 2013 Barkin' for the Blues event is coming up Friday, April 19th when the Blues play the Dallas Stars! Click here for more information on how to get tickets, and how a portion of those ticket sales will help the pooches!
